Loved this location! We parked in the garage across the street. Rate was $44 for 24 hours. The hotel doesn’t have parking. There is a different lot they recommend with in and out access. The lot we chose didn’t have that option but it was fine because we walked EVERYWHERE! There are also plenty of transportation options if you don’t want to walk. Cable cars, bart, transit bus, scooter or bike rentals and waymo if you’re brave enough to take a driverless car! This location has so much to see around it that we were never looking for something to do or see and we really didn’t even venture far. Our stay was basically 2 days and I never had a bad experience at all.

My wife and I had an excellent stay at this property. All the staff; Domestic, front of house were friendly and helpful. For example I had purchased a book in another city in the USA and had it delivered to this property. They kept an eye out for it and when it arrived I was notified; thank you Pretty. The room was number 308 and it was furthest away from the busy main road which was great. PLUS BUS Pass called MuniMobile There are buses literally outside the property which made moving around so easy. We purchased a 3 day pass which gave us access to buses and the Trolley Car for $31US. Train Pass Buy a Clipper Card on line and this means you can get straight onto the amazing train service upon clearing the usual airport authorities. GET OFF the train at POWELL STREET. You can walk up a short distance to the Hotel or call Ubber or a Taxi if you have suitcases. Its slightly uphill!!

The understated hotel is centrally located, about 2 blocks away from Union Square, and about a 10 minute walk to several different neighborhoods. I live in the North Bay, so my boyfriend and I weren't staying as tourists. Therefore, we had to figure out what to do with the car. Fortunately, the parking arrangement works nicely as well, as the garage is just around the corner and is reasonably priced. But the best part, by far, was the staff. Both Lovely and Rachel made our stay wonderful, no matter what we needed. We had an issue with the initial room we checked into, and they were able to make it right, even though the hotel was so busy. It would have been a MUCH different stay without their help!

I love the decoration of the room and hotel itself. The location of the hotel was pretty good, it's a shame that the Cafe on the second floor is not completely functional but the space is really comfy and cozy for a morning coffee.

Room was spacious, history of the building like the vintage elevator, and retaining these elements of humanity despite the "convenience" rat race. I liked that there were no phones in the rooms, you actually had to go downstairs and interact with another person which was really lovely and charming and helped me be more present. Also incredibly flexible and kind personnel + super accommodating about my early check in and late check out. Super knowledgable staff about things to do/where to go.

Location; quiet; staff;fridge in room; pillows were better than most hotels - they might have contained feather/down; they have done a very decent job refurbishing this older hotel, especially the lobby; bed frame was practical - it had spaces on both sides for articles, but there were no night tables; you are able to leave luggage after checking out for up to 48 hours - unprecedented!

Great overall experience at the Palihotel San Francisco. The location is fantastic, just steps away from Union Square and major shops, with easy access to public transportation. There's also a more affordable parking option right in front of the hotel. The decor is beautiful, and they’ve done a wonderful job with the restoration. The antique Otis elevator, one of the first in San Francisco, is still in operation, adding to the charm. I just love the french Diptyque amenities — the fig scent is to die for!

The location is ideal - literally on the edge of China Town and Union Square. It was also only about a 30min walk to Pier 39 which was great as we cut through China Town/Little Italy on a busy day and we soaked up the atmosphere and culture. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk! The room was clean and very stylish. The bathroom was a generous size and towels/condiments/etc. were regularly re-stocked as and when we required them. There was a small table and chairs by the window which was ideal because I know space in San Fran hotels is an issue and this was a welcome retreat from lounging or placing our things on the bed. There was also a small area to hang clothes which came in handy. Staff were very friendly and were always in good spirits and answered any of our questions which was nice to see.

Great location the staff were very helpful, with the exception of one front desk person, I came bag with a bunch of filled shopping bags and as I struggled to make my way to my room, my room key wasn't working a d I had to make my way back down to reset my key and waited a good 10min before the blond male front desk staff member returned and helped me not even apologizing for not being there and me waiting as he was there as I fiddled with my shopping into the elevator. Donny on the other hand was amazing and so personable and very helpful in informing us of the hotel and availing himself if we needed anything as well as offering suggestions for dining and activities nearby, extremely attentive! Housekeeping didn't come in the third day we were there and I had to call amd eventually they came to exchange towels and take trash. This is a great location, really is close to great shopping, union Square and Chinatown! Also the cable cars and access to the Bart station and going to the pier. The rooms were spacious, we were in a King room and was perfect for 2 persons. Beds were comfy and shower was big and great pressure. They offer free coffee and pastries daily on the second floor so that was a treat to help start your day even though there's a nespresso machine in the room. They don't replace the pods though so not sure if you just have to ask, but it was yum. Thank you PaliHotel, I'm sad you don't have your restaurant/bar anymore but everything else was grand! Great value for the location, and felt safe enough walking around the nearby area. I will most definitely be coming back again!!

Honestly everything about the place. The hotel is lovely and has a great aesthetic. Comfortable beds and great shower - the toiletries smelt great as did the entire hotel. Pastries and coffee in the bar area each morning was a great touch - just make sure to get there earlier as on one occasion when I went later they had run out. Great location with buses to Fisherman’s Wharf and Crissy Field just outside the front door. Despite my criticism below on the initial room staff were quick to remedy by allocating a new room further away from the stairs, telling me to take my time moving things between rooms. This solved all negatives and was done apologetically and with no pushback from staff. If you are after a quieter stay or have had a long flight, ask for a room further away from the stairs and you shouldn’t have any issues.
